Hello friends, Im Chrissy!

I am a nature-lover, wild-spirit, feminist, activist, healer, teacher & adventure seeker. I can be pretty silly at times and I love to make people laugh. I do my best to live a mindful life and fulfill my life’s purpose by sharing my knowledge and empowering others. Part of my mission is to decolonize our minds and our hearts so we can come back to our true nature of living in harmony with the earth and with each other. I have a deep connection with the natural world, and I try to incorporate nature’s healing energy in all of the work I do, both personally and professionally. For me, there is nothing better than being surrounded by lush greenery and the sounds of the wind, moving water & animal friends nearby.

I have been energetically sensitive since I was young. I could sense things about people and my surroundings and would have intuitive dreams of events that often came true. Throughout my life, people would come to me for guidance and support. After releasing with me, they would often feel lighter and better about their situation. As an adult, I came to understand this as being an empath with intuitive abilities. These gifts have allowed me to hold sacred space for others and facilitate restorative experiences. I believe we are all intuitive to some degree and I am passionate about helping others develop and strengthen their own intuition.

Another part of my mission is healing. I strive to constantly grow, heal & learn about myself while also supporting others on their own journey. I have a background as a clinical therapist which has allowed me to facilitate deep healing for others. For most of my career, I have worked with people who have experienced trauma, PTSD, grief, depression, anxiety, human trafficking & domestic violence. I am a psycho-spiritual therapist and trainer which means I focus on mental and emotional issues as well as the spiritual aspects of healing. My work focuses on becoming more intimate with all that we are… our pain, our light and our gifts as spiritual beings. I am honored to have the ability to guide others through their process and support them through some of their most vulnerable states. I believe I am able to do this deep, meaningful work because I too have been on my own healing journey for many years. About a decade ago, I went through a family tragedy that shook me to my core and brought me to some of my lowest points. I fell into a deep depression and gave up on everything. I dropped out of school, quit my job and started down a path of self-destruction. I had lost faith in God and in myself. Luckily, I am blessed enough to have a family that never gave up on me and constantly pushed me to get better. I was left with only one choice, to rise above the suffering so that I could become my authentic self… Healer, Warrior, Guide. I left my small Texas town and headed for San Diego in search of healing and adventure. I was soul searching on a deep level and looking for answers to my pain. I have spent the past 5 years in sunny California growing, learning and living life to its fullest. I have devoted a lot of time and energy to my own healing and to studying what types of techniques are most effective. This quest is what ultimately brought me to Reiki.

Why I chose to become a Traveling reiki practitioner

I will never forget my first experience with Reiki. I went into the session feeling very skeptical and not sure what to expect. I left the session feeling peaceful, insightful & empowered. Reiki healing helped me process the grief, sadness & anger I had been carrying with me for so long. I was able to make sense of the pain I went through, and I understood my trauma on a very spiritual level. I felt more clear about my purpose in life than ever before. My Reiki practice has helped me understand how to use nature and Mother Earth to restore my energy and bring a sense of balance back to my life. Reiki has enhanced my mindfulness practice and has allowed me to be present with myself in a profoundly deep way. Learning to love and accept all parts of me, especially the parts that make me feel unlovable, has been a beautiful and transformative experience.

Around the same time I began practicing Reiki, I had been feeling frustrated and stuck with some of the traditional Western approaches to therapy I was required to use in community-based agencies. I would often use my creativity and incorporate Nature Therapy, Aroma Therapy & Mindfulness into my sessions, but I still felt that there was some deeper aspect of healing that was missing. When I discovered Reiki, I realized I had found a way to do more meaningful work with clients at a much faster rate than traditional talk therapy. After sessions, clients would report deep insights and a release of emotional baggage that left them feeling at peace with their current place in life.

I submerged myself in the practice and I realized that I could combine Reiki with the Indigenous healing practices I learned over the years from various spiritual teachers and friends. These cultural practices guided my soul through transformational healing and helped me connect with my own indigenous roots and strong earth medicine that I carry. l enjoy sharing these sacred practices, but I also felt limited on how I could incorporate them in the “professional” realm. Reiki has helped me to develop a healing approach that is unique to me and allows me to use my own medicines and all of the valuable knowledge I have gained over the years.

Although Reiki is an ancient tradition, it is fairly new to the US. There are still many people who have never heard of the practice or who may feel skeptical about energy healing in general. So, when the opportunity to travel and share Reiki presented itself, I knew I had to take it. I was afraid of the unknown, but I felt called to do this work and I knew that the universe would take care of me. I am excited to educate others about this technique and to use it with future clients on their healing journey. I am most excited to train other future Reiki practitioners and spread this healing energy all around the country!
